Marie Juliette Aziz Checa and her camera have formed a perfect union. In her images, we perceive complicity, vocation and above all, a great talent.
Only an authentic artist with that innate virtuosity is able to enthrall us in such a way when observing her images. The photographs that appear in her lens are harmonious and aesthetic.
Marie Juliette was born in Mexico City, where she studied the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, graduating with Honors. She worked in a design firm and later as freelancer, creating renowned logos as the ones for “La Feria de Chapultepec” and the “Georgie Boy” shoe stores.
Afterwards, what started as a black and white photography course became a complete career in that field.
Always with a passion for learning, the artist took some independent courses with notorious teachers like Nevada Wier from National Geographic, Joe McNally, Elizabeth Opalenik, Jerry Courvoisier and Laurie Klein.
Marie Juliette comments: “I like photography, and I am thrilled when two of my favorite passions converge: travel and photography. My taste in culture and art increased when I lived in France. I love to observe, not just look at the world, I am delighted when you not only see a photo, but read the story hidden behind it.” And she adds: “Photography is a hobby that has always been with me. I invariably carry a camera in my purse, and I don’t waste any opportunity for capturing an image, a moment, a feeling”.
